미술총감독 이명환 기획의 ‘오, 독불장군(Aux, 獨佛場,群)’전에서 ‘오’는 불어로 Aux Etats Unis(오제타쥐니)의 ‘미국에’라는 의미로, 독(獨)은 ‘독일에서’, 불(佛)은 ‘불란서에서’, 그리고 군(群)은 그러한 장소에서 창작의 외길을 고집하며 독창적인 미학적 담론을 이끌어 낸 작가군(群) 개념을 표방하는 전시이다. 한국현대 미술발전의 중심에 섰던 유학 1-3세대 작가들의 의식이 철저하게 반영된 시각미술을 한자리에 모아 과거, 현재 경향을 검증하며 한국미술의 비전을 가름해 볼 수 있다. 이번 전시는 크게 두 주제의 섹션으로 구분된다. 첫째 인간스캔의 개념의 강상훈, 권여현, 김인태, 윤혜진, 이건용, 이명환, 최윤정, 홍순환, 시그마 폴크, 앤디 워홀 등과, 둘째로 자연스캔의 개념으로 구경은, 권정호, 김재관, 김종학, 박상호, 백남준, 윤양호, 윤영화, 이승택, 이우환, 정인완, 최병관, 올리비에 위베르 등의 작품을 통하여 ‘현대미술이 갖는 시대성적 창조의 함성’을 적나라하게 드러내며 창조적 영역의 갈증을 해소해주고 있다.

The exhibition ‘Aux, DokBulJangGun’ is organized by art director LEE Myeong-hwan, whose title is combination of each letter respectively: the world ‘Aux’ is a lengthened sound of ‘Aut Etas Unis’ in French meaning ‘in the United States’; Dok means ‘in Germany’; Bul means ‘in France’; and Gun represents the art group who have been walking a single path with passion for creativity and formulated unique aesthetic discourse in those places. This exhibition offers an opportunity to examine past and current trends and to assess vision of Korean art by bringing all visual arts together which reflected consciousness of Korean artists including 1st to 3rd generation abroad who play important roles in the development of Korean contemporary art. 

The exhibition consists of two sections with the first concept of human scan, and artists include: KANG Sang-hun, KWON Yeo-hyun, KIM In-tae, Alie SONG, YOUN Hae-jin, LEE Kun-yong, LEE Myung-hwan, CHOI Yun-jung, HONG Sun-hwan, Sigmar POLKE, Andy WARHOL, and others. The second concept is nature scan and artists in this section include: GU Kyong-eun, KWON Jung-ho, KIM Jai-kwan, KIM Jong-hak, PARK Sang-ho, PAIK Nam-june, YOON Yang-ho, YOON Young-hwa, LEE Seung-teak, LEE U-fan, JUNG In-wan, CHOI Byung-kwan, Olivier HUBERT, and more. The art works that these artists create will quench your thirst for creative spirit presenting contemporary art in a historical context.
