자연이 살아 숨 쉬는 곳, ‘동강’의 도시 영월에서 스물한 번째 ‘동강국제사진제’를 개최한다. 대한민국 국제 사진 행사의 최고 역사와 정통의 가치를 지닌 ‘동강국제사진제’가 동강사진박물관과 영월문화예술회관 등 영월 일원에서 66일간의 여정을 시작한다. 우리나라 사진계의 최고 권위와 역사를 자랑하는 ‘동강사진상’은 성실한 사진창작활동으로 국내사진 발전에 기여하고, 한국사진을 해외에 널리 알린 국내 사진가에게 수여하는 상이다. 매년 사진계 전문가들의 엄정한 심사를 거쳐 수상자를 선정하며 동강국제사진제 기간 중 수상전이 개최된다. 올해 ‘동강사진상’의 주인공은 작가 윤정미이다.

Boasting the longest history and tradition among Korea’s international photo events at venues spread across Yeongwol, including the DongGang Museum of Photography and the Yeongwol Culture & Arts Center. The DongGang Photography Award holds a distinguished position as one of Korea’s most esteemed and historically significant accolades. It seeks to honor Korean photographers who have made significant contributions to the advancement of Korean photography through their unwavering dedication to their craft and promoted Korean photography on the global stage. Each year, a panel of photo experts conducts a meticulous evaluation process to select the winner. The work of the awardee is then showcased during the festival, allowing their talent and vision to be celebrated by a wider audience. This year’s winner of the DongGang Photography Award is JeongMee YOON.
