대구간송미술관 기획전 《삼청도도(三淸滔滔)– 매·죽·난, 멈추지 않는 이야기》는 광복 80주년을 기념하여 마련된 전시이다. 광복은 우연한 결과가 아니라, 오랜 세월 축적된 자존의식과 끊임없는 내외적노력 끝에 맺어진 결실이다. 이번 전시는 우리 민족의 정신적·문화적 힘을 삼청(三淸, 매·죽·난) 그림이라는 예술 형식 속에서 오늘의 시선으로 새롭게 비추고자 한다. 삼청을 그린 지사들의 작품과 그 정신을 되새기는 일은 단순히 과거의 유산을 돌아보는 데 그치지 않는다. 그것은 곧 우리 자신과 마주하는 일이자, 세대와 시대를 넘어 맑음과 품격의 가치를 전하려는 노력이다. 탄은 이정의 《삼청첩》(보물) 전면 최초 공개와 함께 이번 전시에 출품된 절의지사들의 삼청 작품 총 35건 100점은 한국 회화사에 뚜렷한 자취를 남긴 거장들의 걸작으로, 예술사에 오래도록 기억될 명품들이다. 그 탁월한 조형미를 감상해도 좋지만 그 속에 깃든 정신을 함께 느낀다면 더욱 깊은 울림을 얻을 수 있다.
《Samcheongdodo: Plum Blossom, Bamboo, and Orchid—Enduring Emblems of Untainted Virtue》 has been organized to mark the 80th anniversary of Korea’s liberation from Japanese rule. Liberation was not an accident of history but the fruit of long-nurtured self-respect and ceaseless struggle at home and abroad. This exhibition casts new light on the cultural and spiritual strength of our people as expressed in paintings of the “three purities,” or samcheong.To revisit the works of scholars and patriots who painted samcheong, and to recall the spirit they embodied, is not merely to look back on a legacy of the past; it is to hold a mirror to ourselves and renew the values of purity and dignity across generations and eras. The works gathered here are masterpieces by artists who left a lasting imprint on Korean painting. They are treasures destined to be remembered in the history of art.
Visitors may take delight in their striking forms, but if you are able to perceive the spirit within these works, you will find a
deeper resonance.
