인류의 역사를 돌이켜보면 여자들은 항상 일해왔다. 일한 만큼의 대가를 받지 못해도, 알아주는 사람이 없어도 여자들은 일하기를 멈추지 않았다. 여성의 노동은 사회와 경제를 떠받치는 버팀목이 되어왔다. 그러나 그들의 노고가 정당한 인정을 받고 대우받고 있는가에 대해서는 다시 한번 생각해 보아야 한다. 비단 여성에게만 해당하는 문제가 아니다. 남성 중에서도 불안정하고 열악한 노동 조건 속에서 일하는 사람들이 있기에, 성별의 구분 없이 서로 이해할 필요가 있다. 전시에서 소개하는 작품, 유물, 기록을 통해 수많은 일하는 여성들의 모습을 발견하고 그들이 일터에서 맞닥뜨린 어려움을 마주할 것이다. 그리고 서로 의지하고 위로하고, 하나로 뭉치고 투쟁하며 고된 시간을 지나온 여자들을 만날 것이다.
어떠한 어려움 속에서도 일하기를 멈추지 않고 정성을 다해 삶을 꾸려 나가며, 서로 의지하고 위로하는 그녀들을 어찌 사랑하지 않을 수 있을까. 소중하고 귀하게 여김이 사랑의 본질적 속성이기에, 이전시는 최선을 다해 일해온 모든 이들을 사랑하고자 한다.
Looking back on history, women have always worked. Women have never ceased to work, even if they did not receive what they deserved. Although women’s labor has been a cornerstone supporting society and the economy, it is necessary to reconsider whether their efforts are being properly acknowledged. This is not a problem unique to women. There are also men working in unstable conditions, emphasizing the need for mutual understanding regardless of gender. Through the artworks, artifacts, and records presented in this exhibition, visitors will discover women who have worked tirelessly and the challenges they faced in the workplace. They will also encounter women who have supported and consoled each other.
How can one not love these women who never stopped working, dedicating themselves to life with all their sincerity? Since cherishing someone is an essential aspect of love, this exhibition seeks to express love for all those who have worked hard and done their best.
