《겸재 정선》전은 2025년 삼성문화재단 창립 60주년, 2026년 정선 탄생 350주년을 맞아, 호암미술관과 간송미술관이 협력하여 개최하는 정선 주제 사상 최대 규모의 전시이다. 출품작은 총 165점(국보 2점, 보물 57점(7건), 부산시유형문화재(1점)으로, 정선의 지정 작품 총 76점(국보 2점, 보물 74점(10건)) 중 55점(국보 2점, 보물 53점(6건))을 최초로 한 자리에 모았다.
정선의 <진경산수화>는 단순한 풍경화가 아니라, 조선 후기 회화의 사상적·미학적 변화를 반영한 시대적 산물이다. 그의 작품은 사실주의적 경향, 문인화적 요소, 유람 문화, 그리고 전통과 혁신이 공존하는 조선 후기 미술의 특징을 가장 잘 보여준다.
이번 전시는 정선의 대표작인 진경산수화는 물론 관념산수화, 고사인물화, 화조영모화, 초충도까지 다양한 장르에서 성취한 정선의 예술 세계를 종합적으로 조망한다. 이를 통해 단순히 정선의 작품을 감상하는 데 그치지 않고 그가 살았던 시대와 조선 후기 회화의 흐름을 총체적으로 이해하는 기회가 될 것이다.
《Gyeomjae JEONG Seon》, a landmark special exhibition that offers a comprehensive look into the artistic legacy of
JEONG Seon-one of the most revered painters of the Joseon Dynasty. A total of 165 artworks from 18 institutions and
private collections will be showcased. The exhibition features 2 National Treasures and 57 Treasures.
JEONG Seon(1676–1759), pen name Gyeomjae, is widely celebrated as the pioneer of true-view landscape painting,
uniquely capturing Korea’s natural beauty with expressive and distinct personal brushwork. While he is best known for
his realistic depictions of iconic Korean scenery, his talent extended far beyond landscapes. He also mastered figure
painting, flower-and-bird painting, and conceptual works that reflected the diverse aesthetics of his time. Divided into two
thematic sections, the exhibition invites viewers to explore the multifaceted genius of JEONG Seon’s artistry.
